Pathelen Health Care AG (PHC) is a Swiss company founded in 2014. PHC has developed the ground breaking human wound care product PATHELEN® HYBRID which is currently awaiting FDA 510(k) approval. The lead developer and founder of PHC, Mr Andreas Tausch, and his research team set out to develop a medical device for the rapid and effective treatment of chronic wounds, like diabetic foot ulcer, bed sores and venous leg ulcer. Based on the scientific work of the late Dr. William Costerton, who is considered as the father of the biofilm, Mr Tausch and his team identified the biofilm as the main culprit of these non-healing chronic wounds and focused all their efforts on the efficient removal of the biofilm without pharmacological ingredients and thus without side effects. PATHELEN® VULNEREX offers the same benefits and capabilities in animal treatment but is able to prevent infection in fresh wounds too.
